EDT (Essential Driver Training)

The ultimate aim of EDT is to keep young drivers safe on Irish roads by having Approved Driving Instructors working with them to become competent, confident and skilled drivers.

Learner Drivers Please Note:

  • If your first Category B Learner Permit was issued before April 4th, 2011, Aim2Drive provide pretest lessons tailored to your needs.

  • If your first Category B Learner Permit was issued on/after April 4th, 2011, learner drivers must take and complete the EDT (Essential Driver Training).
